ABOUT US

Elkanna Entertainment was founded by siblings Schuyler Elliot Mingo-Coakley and Jayston Mingo-Coakley to build a new system of entertainment — one set apart from modern culture. We develop and own original stories with the ambition, craft, and long-term vision to grow beyond a single release.

We believe the stories a generation consumes become the values a generation lives by. So we build stories on purpose — unscripted shows, films, series, and digital content crafted with real excellence, but anchored to Truth instead of trends.

Elkanna Entertainment develops the ideas. Elkanna Productions, our production arm, brings them to screen. Together, they cover a project from first concept through final delivery.

Every project starts with an idea — a question, a character, a world, a story that hasn't been told this way before. At Elkanna Entertainment, we shape those ideas into distinctive properties with a clear creative identity and a reason to exist.

Our growing slate spans: Unscripted Television · Film · Documentary · Scripted Entertainment · Digital Formats

We don't just make content. We build stories people return to.

Who We Are

The name El Kanna (also rendered El Qanna) comes from the Hebrew Scriptures and means "Jealous God" — or "Zealous God." Both translations come from the same Hebrew root, qanna, and together they reveal the fullness of what this name carries. It speaks not of jealousy born from insecurity, but of holy, covenantal love—Yahweh's fierce devotion to His people and His refusal to share their worship with anything that seeks to take His place. Where "jealous" points to the guarding of that relationship, "zealous" points to the passion behind it—an intense, active love that pursues, contends for, and will not stay passive in the face of what threatens what it holds dear.

El Kanna reveals a God who is passionate about what belongs to Him: a love that protects, pursues, purifies, and calls His people back to wholehearted devotion.

This is the foundation of Elkanna.

We believe storytelling has the power to shape what people see, desire, value, and ultimately become. That makes the stories we tell more than entertainment. They are an opportunity to challenge what culture has normalized, confront the idols competing for our attention, awaken hearts, and create something that points beyond itself toward something greater.

Scripture also describes Yahweh as "a consuming fire, a jealous God." Fire illuminates, refines, and consumes what cannot remain.

That imagery shapes the way we approach our work.

We create with conviction. We tell stories with purpose. We are willing to confront distraction, compromise, and cultural idols while making room for truth, beauty, meaning, and transformation.

Our work is meant to carry that fire.

WHAT DOES EL KANNA MEAN

Our Story

Siblings Schuyler Elliot Mingo-Coakley  and Jayston Mingo-Coakley started Elkanna Entertainment to build something the industry wasn't offering: a home for stories set apart from the culture around them. What began as a shared conviction has grown into a full studio — developing and owning original work with the ambition and staying power to outlast a single release.

We hold to one belief above the rest: what a generation watches becomes what a generation believes. That belief shapes every greenlight. We're building unscripted shows, films, series, and digital content made with real craft, anchored to Truth instead of trend.

Every project starts the same way: a question worth asking, a character worth following, a story no one's told quite like this before. Our job is turning that raw idea into a property with a distinct identity and a real reason to exist.
